Season 2 Auditions

Competition Team 

Date: August 23rd 2025 

Time: 9am - 11:30am (ages 6-11)

           11:30am - 2:30pm (ages 12+)

​Location: 8659 Baltimore National Pike Suite M&N

 

** Auditions will be 1 day, divided into 2 parts, and each dancer is required to attend auditions to be considered for a team. 

​

Part 1: Audition Prep Class

- Dancers will be informed on exactly how they are being judged and what exactly the judges are looking for 

- Dancers will review technique and learn choreography and skills that will be demonstrated during the second part of auditions.

​

- Dancers will be given the opportunity to gain clarity and ask questions prior to Auditions during the summer sessions as they will see similar skills and materials.

​


Part 2: Audition 

- Dancers will demonstrate all necessary technique required for auditions.

- Dancers will perform the choreography taught during the prep class. This material will be reviewed only once by the instructor.

​

Audition Attire:

- All dancers must wear ALL black fitted attire 

- All dancers must have the respective shoes for each genre. If a dancer does not have the proper shoe, they will be asked to dance bare foot. No socks are permitted 

         * Jazz: Turners/half soles or jazz shoes 

         * Ballet: Ballet shoes 

         * Hiphop: Sneakers 

         * Lyrical: Turners/half soles 

- All dancers must have their hair neatly pulled back and out of their faces

- No dancer is permitted to wear any jewelry with the exception of studs.

​

- On audition day: Dancers must wear performance makeup. This includes a base, eyeshadow, lashes/mascara and a red lip stick that compliments your complexion.

​

What to Bring:

- A bag to put all of your belongings in 

- All necessary shoes 

- A healthy and mess-free snack (i.e. granola bar, grapes, popcorn, apple, etc)

- Water bottle 

- Audition Essay (for dancers ages 10+)

- A positive attitude :)

Essay Requirements:

** Each dancer auditioning for the Competitive Program, who is over the age of 10 years old, is required to write the following essay:

 

- Prompt: 

"Why Do You Dance?"

Dance is more than just movement...it’s emotion, discipline, and storytelling. In 300–500 words, tell us why you dance. What does being a dancer mean to you? What motivates you to train, perform, and compete? Share a moment in your dance journey that challenged or inspired you, and explain how it shaped who you are, not just as a dancer, but as a person.

- Length: 1 page (500-700 words)

- Guidelines: 

  • Be honest and reflective 

  • Submit your essay upon arriving at auditions. Physical copies or emailed copies are accepted. 

  • Essay must be typed. No handwritten essays will be accepted. 

  • Failure to submit an essay will result in a point deduction at auditions

Audition Results:

- Each dancer will be notified of their placement on August 25, 2025. ā€‹

​

- Each dancer will receive feedback and corrections from their audition.

​

Dancers who want to audition for the competitive team MUST be present for the entirety of the audition. Please email us if you cannot attend the audition at info@precisiondancestudio.com

- Auditioning for the Training team does not disqualify you from being considered for the Competitive team.

​

- Each dancer will receive feedback and corrections from their audition.

​

Dancers who do not attend auditions will be required to attend a trial class to determine placement.
